There is a true story about a young man waiting in a railroad station who noticed an elderly gentleman reading the signs posted high on the wall—signs printed in very small type. The young man thought to himself, How can someone that old read such tiny print?

Then he noticed that the man’s hair was still a thick, rich black. When the gentleman turned and smiled, the young observer could tell his teeth were still his own. Intrigued and impressed, the young man finally approached the man and asked, “Sir, may I ask—how old are you?”

The gentleman replied, “I’m ninety.”

Stunned, the young man said, “You’re obviously in great shape. You haven’t lost your hair or your teeth, and you’re reading signs I can barely make out. Why is that?”

The older man smiled and said, “From a young age, I discovered that the Word of God says you get what you say. So, I’ve spent my life declaring that my hair is thick and full of color, that my teeth shall not depart far from me”—and he named several other daily confessions.

Then he added, “I’ve confessed these things every day. People thought I was a fool when I was young—but now that I’m older, they’re beginning to realize I wasn’t foolish after all.”

Do you see that Jesus told the truth when He said in Mark 11:23 that you can have whatever you say?

A large percentage of the people who will read this will have already confessed Jesus as their Lord and Savior. But are they getting all the blessings that are promised to them?

Proverbs 18:21 says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”

Do you want joy in your life? Proverbs 15:23 says, “A man has joy by the answer of his mouth….”

The Word of God is telling you—your life is determined by what you say. Let every moment be an adventure in your Christian life.

You may be thinking, “Well, it’s too late for me.” The devil would love for you to believe that. It’s never too late to start confessing the Word of God on a daily basis and pleading the blood of Jesus over yourself. The Word will always be life to all your flesh.
